You made very different music, f.i. with Moospell or Anathema or Devin Townsend.. Which big dreams are still left?
I don't know, I'm already pretty happy and proud at this point. I have to say that every new album fills me with as much excitement and expectations as the first one I made. I never set myself any commercial goals, I define success as "growth" in any way, shape or form. Well, of course working with some of my favorite male vocalists is on my wish-list: Maynard James Keenan, Mike Patton and Serj Tankian. But then again, Devin Townsend and Vincent Cavanagh are on that list as well, so I'm already pretty satisfied with my recent collaborations.
What is so facinating playing very different styles - from Metal to the Song "Teardrops" (Massive Attack) together with Anathema-Danny, or Fernando Ribeiro from Moonspell to your Agua the Annique-Songs? (Was fasziniert Dich daran, diese unterschiedlichen Stile zu spielen?)
As a music lover you can switch to a different music style in your iPod playlist from minute to minute, I don't see why you can't do stuff like that as a performer. I love bands like AC/DC and Iron Maiden, who have stayed with their style for many years, their fans know what to expect, but that just wouldn't work for me. I like to change way too much.
What will you play in Leipzig (allready in the past)? Are there any surprises, like new songs or something?
I will play mostly my own songs, but I'm planning on doing some material I did with Devin Townsend and The Gathering as well. It will be a nice, energetic band show and I might throw in an acoustic solo song as well. I'm looking forward to both German shows a lot!
